Buying furniture from a manufacturer on the other side of the world is a big step, especially the first time. Most of the importers, hotel groups, developers and interior designers who contact us ask the same practical questions before they commit. How do I know the wood is legal? Can you change a design? How will it travel? Will it survive my climate? Can I come and see it?
Below are our answers, based on how we work with international clients at Indocasa. We are a teak furniture manufacturer and exporter in Jepara, Central Java, with more than 300 catalogue designs, a bespoke service, and furniture in more than 100 hospitality projects across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

Frequently asked questions
Is Indonesia a good place to source teak furniture?
Yes. Indonesia combines managed teak plantations on Java, generations of woodworking skill (especially in Jepara) and a mature export industry. It is one of the world’s leading sources of solid wood furniture for homes and hotels.
How do I know the timber is legal?
Wood products exported from Indonesia must be covered by SVLK, the national timber legality and sustainability verification system. SVLK-covered shipments are accepted as FLEGT-licensed timber in the European Union. Ask your supplier for the documents with every shipment.
Can I change the size, finish or fabric of a catalogue piece?
Yes. Most of our designs can be adapted in dimensions, finish and fabric, and we can build entirely new pieces from your brief. Changes are confirmed on drawings and, where useful, a prototype.
How do I get a quotation?
Send us the pieces you are interested in, quantities, any customisation, your delivery destination and your timeline through our contact page. Our team replies within one business day.
Will teak furniture crack in a dry or cold climate?
Properly kiln-dried teak is very stable, which is why we dry all our wood in house. Like any natural timber it moves slightly with humidity, so keep indoor pieces away from direct heaters and let new furniture acclimatise.
How is the furniture packed for shipping?
Each piece is inspected, then wrapped and protected at the edges and corners for container shipping. Any wooden crates or pallets are treated to the ISPM 15 standard.
Do you supply hotels and resorts?
Yes. Hospitality is a large part of our work. Our furniture is in properties including Hyatt Makassar, Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, The Westin London City and resorts in the Maldives, Mexico, Spain and India.
Can I visit before ordering?
Yes. You can see our collections at our showrooms in Ubud (Bali), Jakarta, Surabaya and Jepara. The Jepara showroom is beside our workshop and open Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.
Do you deliver and install?
We coordinate international delivery and, where a project needs it, white-glove setup on site.
